Basic Setup Questions

I'm looking for a quick solution for our netbooks that are currently running XP. I just installed Ubermix on one and it runs great. All the hardware appears to be working.

I would like the netbook to shutdown when the lid is closed. I noticed that Chrome doesn't save any user info when the device is rebooted.

User management
What's the best way to handle user accounts? The auto login to "user" works for me, but I'm worried about security if students are using the same auto login user account. We currently use Microsoft AD and ldap with Google Apps, and Moodle, but I'm not opposed to a different user management solution if there is a better one out there to easily manage Ubermix and Google Apps users.
