Trying to create a single image for multiple devices
« on: June 19, 2012, 12:05:09 PM »
If I run " sh /usr/local/lib/cedartrail/fix.sh" on an Asus 1011 image and then put that image on to say, dell 1012's and 1018's.  Will the cedar trail update break anything in a non-cedar trail netbook?  Would it be best to create two images, one for cedar trail and one for non-cedar trail??

Best to create two images for now. Cedartrail fix alters the X server settings, which could cause problems with some video cards.

Easiest way to do this is to create the image for your regular devices, install it on a Cedartrail device, apply the fix, and create your Cedartrail key from there.

What if you created the fresh load on a Cedar Trail machine without applying the patches, made the load for multiple machines, and then apply the Cedar Trail patches to the appropriate machines?

That would work. Trick is remembering to add the last step at the end ;-)
