2.1 Intermittent Hang After aufs

We have an intermittent issue on a variety of hardware where the system hangs after applying aufs.  The screen displays setting aufs and "done" and then sits with the a frozen cursor.  The usual b/h seems to be "done" followed by briefly flashing cursor and then progress.  Crashing the system and starting again usually gets it past this issue, though at times it takes a couple of reboots.  Anyone else run into this or have a solution?

How often does this happen to you? What system, and does it have an NVidia or ATI/AMD video card?

Hit and miss behavior.... We have noticed particularly on our Acer Travelmate B113 units with Intel graphics.
