Install possible on EEEPC 701?

I am curious to know if it is possible to install UM on a EEEPC 701. I really like the Ubermix package, but when I tried to install 1.05small, it said not enough space. Is there something I can do to force it?

You need at least 4 Gb to install ubermix.
If your eepc it's the 2 gb version, you cannot use it for ubermix.

Did you format the hdd first ?
In your first boot, go to expert options, and erase the hdd. (i don't remember if "erase" is the correct name, sorry)
It will wipe your hdd. Maybe you have some kind of partition scheme left over from other OS.

I went and tried to do this again. The system reports 4001 MB on the EEEPC701 and the erase options did not seem to make a difference. I fear there is only 3.9 GB available on this device.

Yep, 701s aren't big enough for the latest. If you download the "1.05 small" version it *might* install.
