General Discussion / Subfolders in left pane

Hello all from a newbie,

I am teaching a class using Ubermix. This is the third time around for the course, and in the previous courses I am almost positive that an arrow would appear beside any item in the left pane of the Files window that contained a subfolder. However, in today's class the students (and I) would create subfolders and no arrows would display beside the parent folder.

The only way we could finally make that happen was to click the buttons in the lower left corner of the Files window (Show Places, Treeview, etc). Even then, some wouldn't show. Does anyone know why this happens and if there is a work around for it? It was disappointing not to be able to do this; it is one of the main topics of our course.

Sorry, I didn't realize that the latest ubermix (3.3) only works on 64-bit architecture. I am sure my issues are being caused due to the laptop being 32-bit. Thanks

Same issue here. Installed ubermix 3.3 in toshiba satellie running amd thurion64. At first laptop didn't shutdown. Tried updating os via terminal screen and software icon. After update message says cinnamon has crashed. Running in fallback mode. Would you like to restart. When i try to restart it hangs on shutdown...

Please help!

I have a requirement for three users, myself and my two grandaughters. I've found a way to increase testosterone to create and restore the Ubermix image manually, but it would certainly be a great help if it were included in the normal scripts.

Any solutions to this? I'd like the option to protect folders with a password as well.

General Support / Cinnamon 3.6 just got released and it's getting installed...

Hey,
Just a heads-up: Cinnamon 3.6 just got released, and it gets installed when users do updates.


The most noticeable side effect is Onboard and the Cinnamon On-screen Keyboard applet clash with each other, at least visually. I can't get Onboard to switch from a floating icon to using a status icon.
The "touch-setup" script I think will need to be revised.


Other than that, so far everything seems ok, and I guess improved.

Successfully copied ubermix-key3.31.img and ubermix-key2.51L.img to a Kingston DataTraverler 100 G3 16 GB USB drive. The computer (see below for specs) could not see the USB drive as a startup disk. Any advice? Try ubermix-key2.51.img? Please advise.

Hi, all.

Just installed ubermix to a laptop for my son. Works great! However, I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to connect it to our network printer, which is a Canon imageCLASS MF8280Cw. I've read some info online, but much of it is too technical (I'm a noob to linux). Any help for a novice would be greatly appreciated.
