Hardware Specific / mirroring to vga projector

We have some HP 6465b and 6735b laptops on which we've installed Ubermix (recent version). We aren't able to get them to mirror their screens to our projectos (InFocus brand, different models).

We can easily mirror to the projectors with ASUS and HP netbooks with the same Ubermix image. We can also project from HP 6465b laptops that teachers use (but which use Ubuntu 12.04 rather than the Ubermix modifications).

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what the issue might be? Thanks

We faced some challenges in moving staff to LibreOffice from Office. (We now use Google Docs for most everything, so it's not too much of an issue anymore. However, the items below may help some of you who aren't as much on the Google Bandwagon)

One problem was that we were sticking with older, more "stable" versions of LO - based on what I think was bad advice. A lot of problems are fixed in the newer versions, so my (current, at least) recommendation is to get at least the latest 4.1.x versions installed.

Last week I got closer to convincing one staff member that it's a good product. She was trying to create fractions for student math work in Google Docs, but was having trouble because Google shrinks the fraction down to the height of the surrounding letters (font). That made the fraction too small to read. In LibreOffice we created fractions that weren't reduced in size and that's just what she needed. She then made a screencast to let others know how to include fractions in their LO documents. General Discussion / Re: Number of Ubermix computers

At Crossett Brook Middle School in Waterbury/Duxbury, Vermont, we have about 260 student computers, all but 6 (legacy XP for DragonDictate) using UberMix. We have added a lot of programs, including the Lock-Down Browser for the upcoming Smarter Balanced Assessment. (I don't think that many of the programs other than Firefox and Chrome have had much use yet).

There are:
  50 Asus netbooks
  25 HP netbooks
  65 HP notebooks (6465b, 6735b, nx6125)
  120 HP desktops (5100, 5850)
Students have been using Ubuntu for a couple of years. This is the first year in which we are using UberMix and have been doing so for only a month. However, it seems to be going fine.

We also use Ubuntu 12.04 on all content teacher notebooks, but are presently using gnome desktop 2, not UberMix.

Q&A / Can I clear Recent Files list

I'm working on a new UberMix image and have ended up with a couple of files in the "Recent Files" area on the "Files & Folders" menu page. Can anyone tell me if there's a way to clear that area so that it's clean before we install on many computers?
