General Discussion / Re: Ubermix 2.0+ on Acer C7 Chromebook
« on: July 15, 2014, 08:26:24 AM »
I am trying to install Ubermix 2.03 on an Acer C7210 chromebook.  Everything goes well, and it will partition the chromebook.  I then do these steps after it partitioned the chromebook:

1. Once you see the standard ChromeOS login screen, press ctrl+alt+F2 to open a terminal window.
2. At the "localhost login" prompt, enter "chronos" and press Enter.
3. Type "sudo bash" and press enter.

2. Type "mkdir /tmp/usb" and press Enter.
3. Type "mount /dev/sdb1 /tmp/usb" and press Enter.
4. Type "/tmp/usb/chrome/install-ubermix.sh" and press Enter.

It then tells me to press Enter to continue, which I do.
Immediately it displays this:

"initctl: Unknown job: powerm"
"Stopping powerm to keep display from timing out..."
"initctl: Unknown job: powerm"

Then it stops any process it leaves me with the "localhost user #" prompt.

Any ideas on how to complete the install?

Hi-
Just wondering if anyone has tried out Ubermix 2.0+ yet on a chromebook.  If so, did you use the install described on the wiki?  Did the install go ok?  How is ubermix running?  Any other issues concerns?  Thanks!

No need to reply.  I guess the password is "password".

General Support / VirtualBox Admin Password
« on: July 24, 2013, 12:09:36 PM »
I apologize if this topic already exists...I looked, but could not find it.  I downloaded the virutalbox to try out Ubermix, and it seems to run just fine.  I downloaded a Linux program to see how well it would work with Ubermix.  When I try to install the program, it asks for a password to authenticate the installation of a program.  Can anyone provide me the admin password for this on the virtualbox or tell me how to get past this step?  Thanks!
