Title: install ubermix on a 9.04 ubuntu system

I have 1.08 img on a usb, 9.04 see the file can not create a key using your guide.
either can not find the file or dd command help. Im typing the following
sudo dd if=ubermix-key1.08.img of =/dev/sdb1

yes   sdb1 is correct
yes   the file is in my root of usb

Your image command is incorrect - you added a "1" to the end of "sdb". Should be:

sudo dd if=ubermix-key1.08.img of =/dev/sdb

Also, the file should be in your home folder, not on the usb key.

If you are seeing a specific error, please post it.

thank you for your quick reply
I did as you instructed
I got a     (sudo) password for test:
type it in, but nothing show on the screen
hit enter
hard drive started work for the last 15 mins.
nothing else
I'm running a Pentium III, 512 RAM
should i keep waiting or what?
my school will be throwing these away, unless i can make this work

If the light on the USB key is flashing, then it's probably doing it. If you are using the P3s to create the image, then it could take a while, as they probably only have slow USB 1.0 ports. Might want to track down a faster machine, if you can, and create the key on it.
