Dell 2100/2110/2120
I've been having an issue the last 2 versions of UM. When booting it gets to the point where the splash screen should pop up, but it never does. It never boots past that point. If i change the grub.cfg to text and delete splash it will boot correctly.

Do you see the arrow on the screen at any point?
-
It POSTs then you see the (orange?) screen tint like Ubuntu usually does. Then when it progresses where the splash screen is supposed to load it goes black and the backlight is on but nothing on the screen.

I'm getting the same thing. I get no splash screen. The computer loads up and the upper task bar is the only thing that shows. The rest of the screen is black/blank.
Did you ever find a fix to it?
I'm trying to load ubermix 1.3 onto an old Dell GX270 and GX240.

Try 1.31 and see if the situation improves. If not, see this post: http://forums.ubermix.org//index.php/topic,153.msg561.html#msg561 (http://forums.ubermix.org//index.php/topic,153.msg561.html#msg561) and let me know if that works.

Thanks for the reply jnetman1.
I actually saw that the fix on the link and it somewhat works. The screen is pretty distorted in the sense that everything is enlarged. It seems to be set at 800X600 and the screen is pretty zoomed in and I can see the full menu bar at the bottom. I've tried to change the screen settings and there are no other viewing choices.
What I did notice when I let it boot up normally, I get no splash screen and when it gets to the desktop, you see it for a split second and then it goes black/blank. In the upper left part it says Ubermix Launcher, I can see the multi window icon, internet icon, sound icon, time and power/setting icon button. I can access the setting window through the upper task bar. When I click on the video settings to see info. on the video card, it shows up as unknown. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.
I'm not sure if I should just give up and install ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04 or Lubuntu. The computer is an old Dell GX240 with 1 gig of RAM.

Also, I forgot, but I am using 1.31.
And I apologize for stealing this thread from the OP.
