Hi!
I found this problem in 1.82. When searching places on Google Earth, the program displayed a message "HTTP not valid".
After doing
sudo mv /opt/google/earth/free/libcurl.so.4 /opt/google/earth/free/backup_libcurl.so.4
the problem was fixed.
I detected it after deployment (as usual...), so i don't know if the error is in the original ubermix image (i do a lot of customization to the jim's releases)
If anyone else could try it, would be great.
Thanks
Juan

Thanks for the update - seems to be a global issue. Must have been some change to underlying libraries. Will fix in the next update.

Looks like Google has updated Earth. New version 7.x doesn't have the problem (and looks a lot nicer). Update can be downloaded from http://www.google.com/earth/download/ge/agree.html (http://www.google.com/earth/download/ge/agree.html). Would be nice if they supported automatic updates. Will update ubermix base image shortly.

it's heavier on the specs, requires 3D shader or something like that. Tried on my hardware and didn't worked.

Looks like the libcurl delete is the way to go. Downgraded to 6.2.2 on ubermix 1.3 and deleted the libcurl file.
