I'm having issue while installing fresh Ubermix 2.0 on ASUS X201E. What I did is:
From bootmenu -> Boot up Ubermix 2.0 USB key in Legacy boot mode (not UEFI mode). This USB install UBermix2.0 successfully on the other Asus Seashell model. This laptop also run Ubermix 1.
Choose Expert Option (5) then (4) clean all the disk
Install Ubermix 2.0 with Option (1) the installation said that everything is fine and when I unplug the USB then reboot the Laptop. The Laptop go directly to the BIOS menu, when I was in the Bios I canot find any Hard disk boot option. The Hardisk also not display on Boot menu.
Something wrong and I try to boot Gparted live image and I can see the hard disk with all the ubermix partition is still there but why can't it dissapear on the Bios and Boot Menu. Try to set boot flag on the 1st partition. Reboot and it also not work.
Now I'm trying the Release candidate Ubermix 2.0 version and see

Here is a work around
Reinstall the Laptop with Ubermix 1. -> reboot -> plug Ubermix 2.0 usb -> Advance Image -> Update Existing Ubermix -> Format Home partition -> IT WORK

The X201 had a really early EFI BIOS as I recall, so it may be a bit out of spec. Try putting it in EFI mode with secure boot disabled, and it will probably work fine.

I've been having the same problem with this model on Ubermix 2.0. I've tried with a customized base and just a straight 2.02 download and load. I haven't seen anyplace in the BIOS to disable/enable secure boot. I've tried booting to the thumb drive VIA UEFI and without. Any other input?

I'm going to build in an option to force an old school partition map on these troublesome models, since they can't seem to handle GPT partition tables. Will let you know when it is up.

I just added a "create legacy partition map" option to 2.03 (just posted) under Expert Options. Give that a try and let me know if it helps.

dear Jim, it work like a charm.
With the laptop cannot detect a hard drive -> I have to use Gparted to reset or recreate new partition table so that the Process will success if not -> Fail. When the laptop can detect a hard disk -> Ubermixed them :D
Expert Option -> Option 5 -> Option 1 -> Upgrade -> Format (Yes) -> we have ubermix 2.0.3 on Asus X201E
Thank you so much

Hey Jim, anyway you can let us know how to plug this into a current 2.02 build? I've got a base built around that already in VB and would like to add the legacy partition map option as we too have X201E's with this problem...
-
You can either use a 2.03 key to take the image off of your 2.02 build device, or copy the boot folder off of the 2.03 key to the 2.02 key.

Hey Jim, I've been trying to get our 201E's working with a 2.03 key and we've still had no luck. I'm using the create legacy partition map option prior to imaging, then imaging with option 1 and formating the home partition but still no boot...Oddly enough if I choose to not format the home partition then it boots just fine, however I'm obviously missing the separate home partition then...
